A big hello to our Families!

We have created a LOUD Shirt Day event on Friday 6th October to raise money and awareness of hearing impairment for the organisation Hear and Say and the great work they do!!

Come dressed in your loudest and wildest clothes and celebrate our amazing event, while raising awareness and funds for those with a hearing impairment.

Please check out our fundraising page and help us raise funds for this awesome organisation and don't forget to share with your friends.

Yesterday, Happy House celebrated our soft and cuddly friends and had a Teddy Bears Picnic!

There were games, stories and a fair bit of admiring each other's furry little friends.

Thank you to our families and our Happy House children for joining in on the spirit and fun of the day and bringing their little cuddly friends with them.....even if one or two were not so little!

The Happy House children had their first Yoga earlier this month!

Miss Annette was also a newbie at giving a yoga class .....but we all jumped in and gave it a go! The children did fantastically! They all followed and copied the positions and movements with ease. The other educators also jumped in to support and encourage the children in trying out something new!

It was such a hit, we just may have to do this again soon!

Happy House Childcare Centre is having an Open Day! on Saturday the 4th of March from 10am to 12:30pm. We are so excited to allow families looking for an Early Education for their children to come along and meet our caring, dedicated and welcoming educators and to have the opportunity to ask questions and a visit with your children. It's very important to be able to bring your child through a centre so they get the feel for the place and allows you to see if it's the right environment for them and gage whether or not they are comfortable.

Happy House Childcare Centre friends and families please let everyone you know who is contemplating a change in care or thinking about enrolling their child in an early education service. We would love to see you all their in March and look forward to meeting your wonderful children.

If your child already attends our centre please also come along and bring your family and friends as Happy House is one big family and we pride ourselves on that close family environment. It will be a fun day for the kiddies with refreshments for all, let us know if you're attending.

Hello Happy House Families and Friends

These past few weeks from Christmas to School returning has been such a busy time.

It has also been very emotional for us as we have said goodbye to our Red Starfish/Kindergarten children as they spread their wings to begin Big School!

Some of these children have been with us from the nursery and others just over the past year and others anywhere in-between. But each has left their mark on us and will be missed.

Good luck! We wish you the very best and hope you enjoy the adventure of Big School you are beginning this week.

Along with our Red Starfish/Kindergarten children beginning Prep we have many of the children still here at Happy House beginning their own adventure moving from one room to another as they have also grown and developed over the past year.

We all know Australia Day is approaching and at Happy House Kindergarden and Early Childcare Centre we consider this day an amazing way for families to get together and spend a wonderful day doing fun activities with the kiddies.

There are so many different events going on near and around the Gold Coast. For those of you who are planning on staying and home and firing up the BBQ then Happy House wishes you an amazing day with your family eating yummy food and drinking. Just remember if it's a hot one to stay indoors and keep as cool as you can.

For those of you looking to venture out with the family on Australia Day Happy House recommends some fun activities around your local area. Outback Jack's is having a fun day with cane toad racing i'm sure the kids would love that! Or if that's not your cup of tea head over to a bowling club and participate in some barefoot bowls, most bowling clubs will have food and drinks and just good old fashion fun for the family. You could also hit the beach if you're looking for beachy Australia Day most beaches will be patrolled maybe pack the cricket bat and play beach cricket it's always a hit with the kids. The Carrara Markets have some amazing free things to do with the kids like pony rides, jumping castles and a putt putt golf course and the best part is it's free!

Happy House Childcare Centre is so happy to be back in 2017 for an exciting year ahead.

We hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and New Year as we all did, it's now and exciting start to a brand new year with many wonderful months ahead. It's an exciting time for a childcare centre as each year we get enrolments of new children which is wonderful to see new faces so eager to play and learn. We also love welcoming back our regular kiddies and their families as Happy House is certainly one big happy family.

We have so many fun things planned for the year and can't wait to share it all with you. Stay tuned for our blogs as we do them to keep parents up to date with the wonderful world of Happy House and it's fabulous community.

We look forward to a fabulous fun and exciting new year.

Happy House Childcare Centre is super excited about the Christmas Holidays! Santa is just around the corner and all the kiddies have put in their wish lists.

As we come to an end this year, Happy House would love to look back and reflect on what an amazing year it has been. We are so lucky to have amazing staff that is dedicated to educating and that bring so much knowledge and joy to all our children across all ages. Thank you so much for your time and efforts throughout 2016, we really do appreciate how important good staff is. Thanks guys!!

Happy House would also like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful children who have been a part of our centre and who bring us joy and laughter everyday. Thank you to their families also for all their participation throughout the year and for allowing us to take care and educate their children.

Safety over the Christmas break is super important.

We all hear horror stories of things going wrong over the festive season, as we’re busy travelling from family to family and also spending more time near the beach and pools.

Water safety this holiday season is of the up most importance especially with young children. Using common sense when near water with children is a priority. Swimming between the flags is an obvious one and keeping an eye on your children at all times. If you’re holidays are spent around a swimming pool make sure your not so confidant swimmers have floaties or float vests. Just turning away for a second can end your holidays in disaster.

Kids love Christmas trees and also love to touch them, but we often forget that Christmas lights are connected to power and any faulty lights can result in electrocution. Make sure all your lights are functioning properly and have no live wires poking out of them, as small children love to touch and grab.

Another risk over the festive season is believe it or not are toys, the pressies we buy can pose as threat to children if they are not age appropriate. Check labels on packaging to make sure the toys or gadgets we are buying fit the suitable age of the child, as there have been reported cases of children badly hurting themselves with toys they are not equipped to handle.

We all want our Christmas to go smoothly and as fun as possible especially with little ones, Happy House Childcare says take care out there and use common sense during the festive season.

In recent searches for sports ideas I came across a wonderful idea by a company called Ginger Sports.

Ginger sports are dedicated to educating children from the ages of 2-5 years old in the game of soccer, allowing them to learn co-ordination and team sportsmanship.

They offer their soccer program in childcare centres, they can come to you on a weekly basis. What a wonderful creative way for the kids to get outside and learn to play together as a team and have a ball at the same time.

They are located in the Logan area but travel all over QLD. At Happy House we consider this right up our alley and being in Waterford it’s the perfect outdoor activity to consider.

Ginger Sports have all the same mottos and integrity as Happy House childcare centre and we’re certainly going to look into incorporating this activity into our curriculum.
